Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod Massachusetts.
My friends and I rushed to catch the sunset on the first day of our vacation. This sailboat drifted in to view just as I snapped this picture with my iPhone 4S.

We decided to try and grow a few things (mostly herbs) on our Manhattan ledge this spring and summer, but nothing pleased me more than this little tiny plant you see here in front of the watering can. It's the bottom of some celery re-sprouting in a glass of water... and it worked! Sadly as soon as I put it on the ledge, a few drunks in the neighborhood knocked it over, but that's alright. I got this photo first and then a funny story.

This picture is taken on Overpeck Lake in Bergen County, NJ. The lake is surrounded by the New Overpeck County Park. I was out for my exercise in my rowing shell when the wind started to come up very strongly. As I came back to the dock I took this picture of the wind pushing the water against the dock as the sun was setting. In the foreground you see the blade of my oar.

one of many day trips from NJ to NYC. This one was in August 2014

"Tiny Dancer" -- captured in the early fall on the Brooklyn Promenade. There was a group of young ballerinas out enjoying the warm evening.

This is a house in Kensington that always has the best Halloween decorations. My kids go crazy for the flaming pumpkin every year.

Saturday, December 20th. Just another Jewish atheist minding my own business on Broadway and 60th. This and the New York Post are about the best argument I can muster for repealing the first amendment.

I took this photo of Mx Justin Vivian Bond doing an impromptu musical performance at The Cock in the East Village. That night The New York Performance Artists Collective (NYPAC) was holding a benefit in Mx Bond's honor Oct 22, 2014;,Mx Bond decided to get on top of the bar and serenade us with a medley of songs and the content of several whiskey glasses. (I -swear- this was the only reason I was at The Cock.)

Hiking in Yosemite Valley in early September. I admit to using a filter, but only because the image then better matched the appearance to the eye on site.
On another note, for a contest built around submitting phone photos, this page is shockingly unresponsive on mobile browsers. Using Chrome on an Android device, none of the text fields were operational.

one of my favorite viewpoints of Manhattan from the shore of Sands Point, Long Island, a nice 4 mile hike to get there from my apartment. This was taken just last week at sunset.
