On too many mornings in 2014, I was at the office before the sun rose. But some of the sunrises were a fringe benefit.

Selfie, taken on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Using the reflecting walls and ivy I got this mysterious vision of myself. A friend suggested it reflected a Magritte.

Here is a photo I took backstage with my phone at New York City Ballet. In the photo you will see ballet dancers waiting to jump on-stage for a ballet titled "Everywhere We Go" (choreographed by Justin Peck). I was the lighting designer for this ballet and snuck backstage for a quick photo.

I took this after arriving at one of my student driver's home just after a light rain. It was on his front lawn.

Cherry blossom season in Central Park never gets old!

First snow of the last season of 2014. A sublime moment, the ghostly span majestically floating beyond the shimmering cobblestones of DUMBO, irresistible for a Brooklyn shutterbug lucky to come upon the scene.

New York Harbor sunset from Brooklyn Bridge Park. I happened upon this stunning view just taking a walk in my beloved park!

Found this while walking around the streets of manhattan. It made me smile. :-)

I took this photo on my walk to work near the University of Michigan Law Quad in Ann Arbor, MI. This beautiful bird (maybe a Red Tail?) was perched on the roof and flew right at me. It's a little unfocused but still very cool.

This was at a fund raiser for a volunteer firedepartment in PA. Several firetrucks drive through the small towns in the area to announce the begining. They are then on display.

On my way to work a week or so ago, noticed the lovely sunrise over the Banana River here in FL, and held my phone up without looking at it. I snapped three pics with the side-button of my iPhone 4s. This shot was the first of the three, taken at about 35-40 mph. There is no reason it should not be a blurry, crooked mess, but there it is, looking for all the world as if I'd been parked.
