WNYC is a media sponsor of the DOC NYC Film Festival. At IFC Center November 2-10, with Werner Herzog, Jonathan Demme, Barbara Kopple, Charlotte Rampling, Michael Moore and others presenting new films.
Documentary storytelling is flourishing like never before – encompassing reportage, memoir, history, humor and more. DOC NYC celebrates this cultural phenomenon and encourages its new directions.
DOC NYC takes place within the concentrated area around Washington Square, easily accessible by most Manhattan subway lines. The principle locations are the IFC Center (on Sixth Avenue at West Third Street) and NYU’s Kimmel Center, just a few blocks away at 60 Washington Square South. Certain galas and special events will take place at NYU’s 800-seat Skirball Center for the Performing Arts located at 566 Laguardia Place at Washington Square South. Film screenings and certain special events will take place at the Eisner & Lubin Auditorium, located inside Kimmel Center on the 4th floor. Saturday panels will take place on Kimmel Center’s 9th Floor, room 900.
