WNYC is a media partner of the Opera Hispanica Festival. The New York City Spanish-language opera company hosts two weeks of events in the month of March. Featuring the tango-opera Maria de Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla.

Opera Hispánica Festival,  of Hispanic opera, presents a month of events including the concert, Pasiones! The Pulse of Zarzuela featuring renowned Cuban-soprano, Eglise Gutiérrez (Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Teatro Liceu, Caramoor Festival) at the Americas Society on March 8 and a company premiere of Astor Piazzolla’s sultry tango-opera, Maria de Buenos Aires at Le Poisson Rouge on March 15 & 17.
