Yesterday, 30 year old Google executive Wael Ghonim was released from an Egyptian prison yesterday after twelve days of imprisonment, during which time, he claims, he was kidnapped and held blindfolded by authorities. 

Hours later, in a live interview conducted on Egypt's DreamTV, Ghonim broke down in tears while seeing images of men killed in the riots. (Watch the interview after the jump.) His interview seems to have re-galvanized protesters who have taken to the streets in record numbers after two weeks of demonstrations.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel stood before the youth wing of her Christian Democratic Union Party over the weekend and said that multiculturalism has failed in the country. The integration of Muslim Turks and Germans has gone on unsuccessfully over the last 40 years.

Poland is reeling after Saturday's plane crash that killed 96 people, including the Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, and many of the country's top military, parliamentary, artistic and symbolic leaders. The group was traveling to Katyn for a 70 year remembrance of the worst massacre in WWII history.
