The Queens-based MC Homeboy Sandman has one of the more unusual resumes in hip hop. He’s been a public school teacher, a law student, a bartender – and more recently, one of the brightest rising stars on the New York hip hop scene. When Homeboy Sandman came on the show earlier this year, we were impressed. So impressed, that we asked him back to perform live in The Greene Space.

Before settling on the rap game, Homeboy Sandman did tours of duty as a New York City schoolteacher, Hofstra law student and bartender. But this late-blooming emcee’s hip-hop love affair began while growing up on “one of the biggest bootlegging blocks” on Queens Boulevard.
