Musician and composer Kaki King creates rich sound textures with her six-string skills – so well, in fact, that Rolling Stone placed her on their list of “The New Guitar Gods” a few years back. After releasing her latest album, “Junior,” in 2010, she toured as a solo musician (taking along some rare instruments for company, including a harp guitar and a hybrid guitar-koto) and contributed music to films like “Twilight” and Sean Penn’s “Into the Wild.” Her most recent project is a score for silent film star Buster Keaton’s 1920 movie “The Scarecrow,” which debuted in January.

Brooklyn-based musician and composer Kaki King creates rich sound textures with six-string skills that earned her “guitar god” status from Rolling Stone. When she performs, it can be hard to believe all that fret-tapping, beat-making and loop-crafting comes from a single guitar. She joins us in studio for a live performance.
