Sand sculptor Kirk Rademaker makes architecture out of sand — fantastical structures as high as ten feet, with arches and balconies, and sloping curves that stretch all over the beach. The ambitious sandcastles may only last as long as the tide allows, but Rademaker accepts the temporality of the designs. “It’s like sketching in 3D,” he says. Rademaker showed off his skills for Studio 360 at Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
