New York, NY —
Don Imus' morning show has been suspended for 2 weeks. CBS and MSNBC made the decision following the racial comments he made about the women's basketball team at Rutgers. The suspension comes as civil rights leaders continue to demand Imus' resignation or dismissal.
Imus appeared on Al Sharpton's radio show to apologize again yesterday, but he also said he wouldn't step down. New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine met with the Rutgers team to congratulate them on reaching the NCAA finals. Corzine called Imus' remarks "disgusting" and said it was up to the team to accept Imus' apology. The shock jock's suspension starts next week.
