Tom Bosley, who played the father of Ron Howard's character Richie Cunningham on the long-running show "Happy Days" has died. Bosley was 83 and died of heart failure on Tuesday at his home in Palm Springs.
Bosley won a Tony in 1959 for his performance of Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the musical "Fiorello," but he's best known as the affable dad on "Happy Days." TV Guide listed Bosley as number nine on their "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time."
After his time on "Happy Days" Bosley played a recurring character on "Murder, She Wrote."
Bosley is survived by his wife, one daughter, two stepdaughters and seven grandchildren.
