Common at The Apollo Theater

Common at The Apollo Theater, Tues., Oct. 8
Tickets: $50-84. Show at 8 pm.

At this point, Common is probably known as much for his activism and his acting as for his music. But make no mistake, Common was a major force in so-called conscious rap, and still is a formidable songwriter. The Grammy, Emmy and Oscar-winner released a new album this year called Let Love, a collaboration with just some of his many musical friends: A-Trak, BJ the Chicago Kid, Daniel Caesar, Jill Scott, Jonathan McReynolds, Leikeli47, Leon Bridges, Samora Pinderhughes, and Swizz Beatz. Common also celebrates the release of his second book, Let Love Have the Last Word along with his latest studio album, Let Love, when he plays Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the historic Apollo Theater.
