British composer Anna Meredith works in between two musical worlds. She is a contemporary classical composer whose works include orchestral scores and chamber music. But she also leads a kind of art-rock ensemble that uses lots of electronic and computer-generated sounds. That’s pretty interesting, but even more intriguing is the fact that on her album, called Varmints, it’s not always clear which of the two you’re actually hearing. This piece, with its brassy fanfares and its laptop programming, is called "Nautilus." Anna Meredith and her ensemble are at Le Poisson Rouge tonight.
