Gig Alert: Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino – Moi (Weekly Music Roundup)

The name Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino is a mouthful, but it does give you the story of this southern Italian band: they’re from Salento, they sing in the local Greek-inflected language, and they keep alive an ancient tradition of southern Italian folk dances by blending them with the modern sounds of global pop. They’ve just released a new album, called Canzoniere, and today we premiere a beautiful new video for their song called “Moi”, which means “Now.” The video is a road trip through the Salento region, and we’re premiering it as part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
