EVENT: Marx Brothers screenings at Film Forum

“A Night At The Opera” is the name of a famous album from the British rock band, Queen. But it’s also the name of a 1935 film starring the Marx Brothers, the iconic post-vaudeville trio that reinvented on-screen comedy. They’ve long been revered for their razor sharp routines, but less appreciated were the brothers’ exceptional musical talents. Here’s a bit of slapstick genius Harpo Marx playing it straight for once on, naturally, the harp:

 

Film Forum in Hudson Square has been playing beautifully restored Marx Brothers films all week – including “A Night at the Opera.”
