Gracie and Rachel aren’t just a musical duo. They’re an aesthetic duo as well: Gracie Coates plays piano, Rachel Ruggles plays violin. Gracie usually wears white, Rachel wears black. Gracie has a lovely pop singing voice. Rachel has obvious classical precision. Together they make a kind of orchestral indie pop music that plays with light and dark, and they’ve been doing it since they were in high school, so they’re pretty good at it. The duo Gracie and Rachel play tonight at the club Berlin Under A on Avenue A.
