Inside the Fastest Warming Place on Earth

Dena Seidel Filming

The West Antarctic Peninsula is one of the most perilous environments on the planet. It is also one of the fastest warming places on earth. In the wake of devastating climate events like Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Katrina, oceanographer Oscar Schofield teamed up with a group of researchers in a race to understand climate change. “Antarctic Edge: 70° South,” directed by Dena Seidel, brings us to the stunning landscapes and seascapes of Earth's southern polar region, revealing the harsh conditions and substantial challenges that scientists endure for months at a time. Oscar and Dena are joined by Gabriela Elise, a film student who participated in the project. Opens April 17 at the Quad Cinema.
