The Czech violinist, vocalist and composer Iva Bittová is a remarkable figure – now based here in the States, she draws on Czech folk music, improvisation, storytelling and classical music to create something that feels like it could have come from almost any place or time – or, no place or time. She began her career as an actress and to this day her solo performances pack a strong dramatic punch. Iva Bittová performs tonight at the Jewish Museum.
