The British singer Jacob Banks has a rich, soulful voice – but he’s also inspired by minimalist electronic music and hip hop. Banks just released his debut album, Village, a couple of weeks ago, but his songs have already been featured in a number of TV series, and it turns out that Banks himself is a bit of a director. He’s just released a video for a poignant track called “Slow Up,” which is about every parent’s inner plea to their children: don’t grow up so fast.
