Joe Kye: Migrants at Flushing Town Hall
Joe Kye: Migrants at Flushing Town Hall, Friday, March 29
Tickets: $10-16. Workshop at 7 pm. Show at 8 pm.Â
Joe Kye is a Korean-American violinist, singer, and looper, using digital delays live onstage to produce lots of layers of sound. In addition to singing, his performances often include storytelling, specifically stories about growing up as an Asian immigrant in contemporary America. Now, Kye is taking part in the Migrations festival series at Flushing Town Hall, which brings together musicians from different traditions who share the immigrant experience. The Chinese-American hip hop artist Jason Chu joins Joe Kye, along with pianist Josh Ehrlich and percussionist William Catanzaro, Friday, March 29, at Flushing Town Hall as part of Carnegie Hall's Migrations festival.Â
