As health officials have predicted, the number of COVID-19 cases in the New York-area is increasing. Eight newly diagnosed people have connections with the New Rochelle attorney who works in Midtown Manhattan. That was anticipated -- as officials tested a wider net around the infected man. Also today, New York officials identified three additional cases that had no connection to the Westchester man, indicating broader community spread of the virus. Two cases were also identified in New Jersey, one of whom had connections to Manhattan, but not with the Westchester attorney.
