Revisiting NYC's '60s Pop Music Scene

JR (pictured) is the subject of a new book by George Colabella. It follows JR's rise to fame in the late 1950s as a member of the pop trio, The Jay Tones.

George Colabella and Charles Penzabene aka "JR" join us to discuss the book, Taking It From The Top... One More Time. Written by Colabella, the book tells JR's story as a founding member of The Jay Tones. The Italian American pop trio rose to fame during the late 50s and early 60s with their song “My Only Love.” Through JR’s story, Colabella shows what it’s like to be a young musician trying to stand out in the 1960s NYC pop music scene.
