Risk Connecting With Strangers On A Phone Or A Stage At 'A Thousand Ways'

A Thousand Ways Part Two: An Encounter

"A Thousand Ways" at the Public Theater asks us to reveal ourselves to a stranger - another (anonymous) ticket holder.

"It's really deeply transformative. It does what the best theater does - creates a sense of empathy, builds a bridge between you and someone who might not be like you at all, and creates a way to share an experience with a stranger in the same room," says WNYC Culture Editor Jennifer Vanasco. She explains how it works to Weekend Edition host David Furst.
