Too Many Special Education Students Not Getting Mandated Services, Advocates Say

Nearly 83 percent of students in special education programs received their fully-mandated services in the New York City schools last year which, advocates say, is not nearly enough. Annual data released by the Department of Education on Tuesday show more than 30,000 students with disabilities received only a portion, or none, of the specialized instruction they were entitled to. WNYC's Yasmeen Khan reports.
