Why the War Continues for Veterans Who Return Home

The Leonard Lopate Show | May 23, 2016

Best-selling author and journalist Sebastian Junger takes a critical look at post-traumatic stress disorder and how it affects veterans returning from war in his latest book Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging. He draws from psychological and anthropological research which suggests that returning veterans suffer not only from the combat trauma, but as a result of individualist societies they return to, which are at odds with our tribal instincts.

Event: WORD Bookstore and Housingworks co-present celebrate the launch of Sebastian Junger's new book on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:05 p.m. at Bookstore Cafe (126 Crosby Street). He will be in conversation with David Epstein, answering questions and signing books. For more information, click here.
