Watch: Elizabeth and the Catapult Live from Le Poisson Rouge

New Sounds Live | Oct 16, 2017

Wednesday night at 9:30 pm Elizabeth Ziman, frontwoman for Elizabeth and the Catapult, brought her infectious brand of poetic chamber-pop to Le Poisson Rouge for the release party of her latest album, Keepsake (Oct. 20, Compass Records.) The event was streamed live as a Q2 Music Facebook Live.

Ziman, a classically-trained pianist and vocalist who studied at Berklee College of Music, rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of her album The Other Side of Zero. Keepsake will be her fourth studio album and reunites her with producer-drummer Dan Molad (Lucius) and features collaborations with multi-instrumentalist Richard Swift (The Shins.)

The show opened with a set by singer-songwriter Hannah Epperson, who performs with violin and loop pedal. Epperson's musical journey has taken her from learning Appalachian folk tunes in Utah, to Scandinavia and Europe as an performer, to an accompanist for Flamenco dancers in Spain, before settling here in New York.
