Xenia Rubinos is a singer, a songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent. But if you really want to know who Xenia Rubinos is, you have to listen to the songs – that’s songs, plural, because one tune might have a Caribbean lilt to it and the next one might have an in-your-face punky noise. She sings in both English and Spanish, with lyrics that range from the goofy to the sharply satirical.  Xenia Rubinos is performing Sunday night as part of the free, day-long Bang On A Can Marathon concert at the NYU Skirball Center.
