I took this photo during a music video shoot for a friend of mine Ming Kurray (aka Jack Pizzo). While doing some time-lapse of my two good friends, I snapped this photo perfectly when the sun was setting between the two of them. This was in Burbank, we kind of just winged it driving around and exploring a good place on the hill to view the sunset. I love how spontaneous it was to run across this beautiful lookout point. Couldn't have asked for a better shoot!

Saw this bike station in Soho and couldn't resist taking a photo.

The dome of the Guggenheim with beautiful colorful shapes that coordinated with the exhibit - early summer 2013. I took this picture because I loved the geometrics, the colors and the feeling it gave me of being free and playful.

Took this picture of lake when I woke up.I was so moved by the look of it and wanted to make it better with tools.
The lake was covered in fog, which by the way kids, "fog eats Ice"
I took my iPhone and snapped some. With that I opened up Avert and Instagram to tweak it

Walking back from dinner at Craft with two long lost friends, I looked up at the Empire State Building, which looked so majestic, I snapped this photo.

I walked down to the East River from downtown Williamsburg just as a storm seemed to be rolling in. I was struck by the pull towards the Empire State Building.

I was hiking in Topanga, CA just north of L.A. I had just started jogging with no plan on stopping and this grove caught my eye. I love how inviting that picnic table looks; like it was placed there just to welcome me. The way the trees lean and curve are gorgeous, too.

Took this at a lake in Connecticut. A dragonfly had drowned and put it on a metal table next to a shell I had found in the lake.
I love the colors and circular shapes of the metal table against the colors of the shell and dragonfly.

I was taking my grandchildren to the Central Park Zoo in May. I loved the colors of the tulips in the background and my grandson's complete lack of self-consciousness about wearing an elephant head and tail and the equally unself-conscious look my granddaughter gave me. There was no "posing" for this photo. They were just present and the photo almost seems like a painting to me.

Another photo taken on the High Line this past September. It struck me that, with all the people mulling around and crowding the pathways throughout the park, this man was able to keep this relatively secluded spot to himself.

Took this photo from the High Line early in September. I grew up in the NY / NJ area but currently live in Georgia, so now all things representative of the city warm my heart, including this photo that the foliage of the High Line helped frame for me.

I took this on a very warm night at the Lincoln Center fountain. I was walking two out-of-town guests around Manhattan after dinner and thought they would enjoy seeing Lincoln Center. There were three gorgeous French people (2 men, 1 woman) sitting and/or reclining, who were so photogenic that I asked to photograph them. They said Bien Sur, as long as I would do the same with their camera. For those, they wanted me to use the flash, in close-up. What I like about this one (besides the fountain) is the effect I got by not using flash. The people could be any young people on a warm night in any great city, physically and emotionally comfortable with one another; and in keeping with the water theme, their bodies appear in the low light to flow into one another.

Dumpling making in a tiny shop in China Town - love the completely human (non-mechanized) effort it takes to make these delicacies

A taxidermied bear stands at a souvenir market in Ukraine. It is covered by a rug to prevent people from posing with it without paying first.

Nothing made me want a "real" camera more than visiting the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho for a friend's wedding in late June. To make up for it, the iPhone worked overtime. This shot was taken just before the ceremony.

This photo is of an old, lost pier between Hoboken and Jersey City, with NYC in the distance. It was taken on a slightly overcast, late winter morning during low tide. I was taking a walk with a friend and it caught our eye. I love the raw, gritty quality of the day, the pier, and even the city, and also how the photo captures the depth of the pier.
