This photo was taken at Five Pointz in Long Island City, Queens about four months before the whole building was painted over in preparation for its sale. I don't know the woman standing on the hand, but I think this photo really highlights the large scale of this amazingly detailed ''graffiti" artwork.

This is a photograph of a speed bump taken in a parking lot during last week's thaw. The reflection of the sky and nearby architecture in the puddle create a beautiful abstract composition. Being a a fine artist, I am always looking for interesting juxtapositions of color and texture as I walk around town. This image is the original photo - no Photoshopping.

Nobody wants to get into a big white essentially windowless van.

I took this photo of my friend at a going away party for our other friend, who was about to leave to Japan for a period of time. I took it because my friend here was knocking back this terribly bright red beverage (a "Strawbaritta," I believe), which in my mind must have been an awful experience, in front of a poster of a young girl wearing a shirt reading the slogan "EVERYTHING IS SHIT." The look on her face implies, to me at least, "look at what's going on here... my shirt, indeed, speaks the truth." I like it because all of the elements together make me chuckle.

This is a photo taken at Washington Square park, in Manhattan. I was driving through the city the other evening and I pulled over to take this photo. I thought it looked so gorgeous illuminated at night and with the Christmas tree adding the holiday spirit to its beauty. I also like the angle this picture was taken at. Since I was in a car as I passed by, its not quite the usual view you would get as a pedestrian.

This Photo was taken while running the on the trails of the Ridgewood reservoir, located on the border of Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens. I took it because it amazes me that only a 10 minute walk away from all of this natural beauty, is my extremely industrial, urban neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn.

I took this on the Staten Island Ferry, it was one of my first days back to the city after a long hiatus.
It's still amazing to me that so much life fits on one tiny island.

I was walking home from work on Union Street in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn and I was struck at how yellow the leaves were of the Ginkgo Trees. Yellow is my favorite color and I took this photo because I loved the way the streetlight lit the leaves with the traffic signals peeking through.

I took the picture because I found myself wondering what that man thought of the mayor's statement and if he was affected by stop and frisk in anyway.
I took it on the 6 train in the Bronx.

Shopping at a farmer's market in September, these carrots were the only ones left at this particular stand—no one wanted funny-looking carrots. As I handed over the money, the nice person at the stall told me that they were her favorites. I think she might have been pleased to take them home herself, if I hadn't been instantly attracted to them. I immediately took this picture in the kitchen, but I couldn't bring myself to cook them for about 3 weeks. (They were delicious.)

This is from a reenactment of the Battle of Fort Lee during the American Revolution. George Washington narrowly escaped, living to fight another day.
(I tried to upload this the other day-don't think it worked)

The Grove Street PATH Station in Jersey City. He calls himself the King of Pennies. Why did I take it? Well, when the King of Pennies graces you with his presence, you have want to remember the moment.

I have recently began commuting by bike into the city from New Jersey. The George Washington Bridge is always such a pleasure to cross and a dramatic entrance into Manhattan. This was taken one chilly morning from Fort Lee Park, overlooking the bridge. The bridge is crowded with cars. My solitary bike is in the foreground.

I took this photo of my wife on the first day of snow in NJ (December 8th) in front of the house we are building at the Jersey shore in Lavallette. When we are old and grey and sitting on our porch, we'll always remember that day, because we captured it on my cell phone.

This picture was taken in Albany, NY in September 2013. We were sitting at a traffic light as the sun was setting. I snapped it with my Iphone5 out the front windshield of the car. I couldn't believe the color of the sky. It love it because it reminds me of the water in the Caribbean. I

Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, Paterson, NJ
Though Paterson is the third largest city in New Jersey, nature abounds...this is just the tip of the iceberg, or the waterfall as the case may be. I took this picture to broadcast how thankful I work in a place that has this view outside our office door.

This photo's story.:
(Brutus may be a pet - but he is not mine and I do feel strongly that this photo is newsworthy!)
A Random Opportunity;
A Man and His Dog
I saw them in front of the Sephora on Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District.
I asked the man the dog's name: Brutus. Brutus is darling and let me pet him. I then spontaneously asked the man if I could take their picture. How could I resist this man and dog pair? And the setting: the fact that they were sitting directly under the huge make-up ad in the window of Sephora made it all the more "interesting!"

Swans take some photogenic beating. Beautiful lines, pure white, a splash of color. They are the coolest bird. I took this on Geneva lake and I liked the repetition of those curvacious lines the high contrast of white feather against dark lake.

I love this picture of the Duck Pond at 59th St. because it tell of what is there and what is imagined in this little purposeful getaway space in the center of the City.
