Taken yesterday on 188 Street in the Bronx, parked in a "teacher-only" parking space of a school; this guy must be popular with his students! I took the picture to show to my college-aged sons, and we are all wondering whether he can lock his car with the car key or not. On the hood underneath a glued-on Mercedes icon, a row of smiley face headlamps and a line of rubber duckies in graded sizes, it says, "HYBRID." It's a grand brand mash up!

Walking down a side street in my Park Slope neighborhood, I noticed this dog watching the world go by.

Yoga in Prospect Park. Always a funny sight but one of the great things about summer!

A resident bicycle of my Park Slope neighborhood its a fine bike that I've photographed before, with its black frame and colorful wheels. This day, I passed by, noticing that while it was missing its back wheel, it was instead sporting a festive bouquet of balloons that its owner chose to leave attached during its respite.

I stepped off the subway and onto this movie set on the LES a few weeks ago. Everyone must have been on break because there were no people, only these dirt covered streets and old storefronts. Absolutely magical throwback into NYC history, especially because it took me several minutes to figure out what was going on.

Toronto,CA, Jan. '13. I took it because it had the old within the new. Within might be a gentle word.

Happened upon these two fellas on my first trip to New Orleans. They were on the corner of St. Peter and Royal Street. Their garb and body language set the tone for the whole photo. I felt like I was somewhere back in time, a long, long time ago.
Orquidea Polanco
I took this photo in Manhattan, I like the deep blue sky and the clouds give me a resemblance of angels wings.

I took this photo in the bronx, what I like from this photo is the composition, the background and the colors following the stairs.

This was taken in queens, I like the seperation from the sun and the foreground.
James Ferguson
This photo was taken in the Coney Island Subway Station and shows that cultural icon, the Wonder Wheel, in the distance. I like the composition, color balance and unique perspective on a cultural icon.

This photo was taken in queens, I like how this photo gives it an illusion of miniature effect.

The first photo is taken from the Coney Island Subway Stop and look past the tracks to the iconic Wonder Wheel in the Distance. I like the composition, color balance and unique perspective on a cultural icon.
The second image is of a tree in the Bergen Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn. It is a tree covered w/ stuffed animals.

this is my annual compilation or "best of" photo collage which I send as a holiday email every year and includes whichever pictures seem to make a statement for that year. I usually get a very positive response and some people in fact have told me they look forward to my annual mailing which is very nice. art should get out there. these are all instagram images using muzy collage, so use of the iphone+apps was critical in their creation. this year the theme is more serious because I was involved in some things that are important to me, specifically around my alma mater, Cooper Union which is in dire straits these days. 9-11 is always on my mind as a native new yorker, and the delivery pizza is from Patricia's on Morris Park Avenue in the Bronx, my "hometown" and is the best pizza on earth, well if you can't get to Naples :)) I got to see Yoko Ono's show at the MCA in Sydney, Australia, which was terrific, I'm a big fan of her work and her message of peace. and as you can see I have a "thing" for beautiful clouds too!

Long Beach Boardwalk Demolition. Saturday 1/19/13. Even with the boardwalk gone, people still gravitated to it.
Shutter lag drives me nuts but this worked out. A small gift of the gods of photography.

This picture was taken on the path that runs along the Brooklyn side of the Verrazano bridge. I like that the image captures the beauty of the gull's outstretched wings on landing.
Audrey Malachowsky
Woke up one morning and saw the two of them cuddled up and took the shot. Cat thinks the pup is its mom (male dog) and she just takes charge while he sort of helplessly goes along, giving me long suffering looks. Love the way they're at peace with each other.

I was sitting on a park bench on the bike bath that runs alongside the Verrazano Narrows when this gentleman walked by. I like the light, and I like the Verrazano bridge in the background.
