I shot this photo this past fall at sunset after a heavy rain. It was taken on the new boardwalk in Long Beach, New York. The figure on the boardwalk is my husband who is taking a photo. He ran up ahead of me to get the magnificent light and color of the sunset. When I got to the top the ramp there was this perfect picture with the light reflecting on the new hardwood. The
boardwalk had been destroyed during hurricane Sandy. We are enjoying having the boardwalk back in our lives. It was beautifully reconstructed and that makes it all the more special.

This is one of the two old New York Dock Company buildings in Red Hook. The other was purchased and repurposed by Christie's to store some of the world's most precious objects. Here, the abandoned sister is still waiting to achieve new potential - 10 years ago, we couldn't assume this worn husk would revive itself, but in 2013 Brooklyn, is there any doubt?

Marathon Day, First Avenue, mile 17. A completely life-affirming day, all about hard work, dedication, passion and love.

Taken at Trinity Church during Messiah a few weeks ago. Between the music and the architecture it was a spectacular experience. I like the abstract nature of the composition along with contrast of light and dark. Although it appears to be either black and white or sepia toned it is actually a full color unedited shot. Hope you like it too!

I've lived across the street from Prospect Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn for the past couple of years and this is what I see to my right as soon as I leave the F train station everyday coming home from work.
This was taken during the first snow we encountered last year in the beginning of November. It was just beautiful, so I felt the need to take the photo.
It wound up looking composed, but it was really point and shoot with my iPhone5. I've since tried to take a an identical picture from each season, but this one is always the most beautiful.
I loved the way the snow clung to the trees, the lighting of the bench, as well as the lamp posts on either side of the central tree.

Saw this aptly- named venue in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I think even the font on the store sign is seedily apologetic. Perfect.

In hideous traffic on a sunny Sunday in March on the Kosciuszko Bridge. Taking pictures in order to stay calm and tune out my husband's road rage. I have always loved the views of Manhattan from afar and I love how NY can look like NY without showing a skyscraper.

This photo was taken of my friend Stuart and I at the 2013 Pride March. In the photo, we're saluting a pair of Stonewall veterans, sharing the respect from our generation to theirs.

This was taken on my walk by myself in Mainz, Germany this last spring. I had been in search of swans to take a picture and had pretty much given up as they kept disappearing behind trees. Then all of a sudden these two appeared and I quickly snapped them. When I looked at it later I realized they formed a heart which made it all the more special with the little guy behind them.

This photograph was taken while I was walking in Central Park. It was from the East side looking toward the West side of the park. The sun was coming up reflecting soft light off the buildings and the water. The morning was peaceful and quiet although there were people all around. I thought it was a beautiful NYC image.

This was their first time at the Met. They came in from Brooklyn to see the punk exhibit, and were laughingly wondering why there weren't any real punks. Ended up on the roof, which is where we met. At least punk couture got them to visit and hopefully they'll come back often to see how magical the place is. I moved from NY a week ago after years of being here. The only thing I'm heartbroken about so far is not being able to visit the Met whenever I want. Is a good reminder of a good day.

Photo was taken at this year's Day of the Dead celebration at St. Mark's in the Village. The alter was beautiful, the music, foods and crowd were so enjoyable...I love how New York's Mexican population has introduced this wonderful tradition to our City.

In August headed to Scotdale Arizona with a dear girlfriend to visit the Grand Canyon-- something I been wanting to check off from my bucket list. The day for the tour was partly cloudy since this is the time they have the highest amount of rain fall.
The clouds contibute to the quality of the pics which I carry on my IPhone screen. What i love about either pic is how it instantly takes me back there and makes me want to go back there again

My friend and I had dinner at the Nomad in the East Village and were walking to First Ave when we saw a car for sale parked at the curb. Blown out rear window, taped up...roof and side completely corroded. Behind the wheel (presumably guarding this masterpiece) sits a tiger. We both fell over laughing!

This was the day before Cinco de Mayo in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. I happened upon this parade by chance and put myself in the middle of it to fill the frame with the surrealness of it all. I love the color and the eeriness mixed with joy. I love when living in New York feels like being in some other country.

This is 23rd St on what was the first warm spring day of 2013. This boy was doing headstands and handstands in his underwear for an hour. He didn't have a tip jar out for collection. He was just being what you see in this photograph. Many who passed ignored him completely. When I look at this photo I remember how glorious NYC feels on a day like that, not just the weather and the light, but the feeling of the people on the streets and the energy of it all.

A shot of a man and his son at the brooklyn botanical garden. I don't know these people, but I thought it was a really tender moment with the boy reaching out, but also kind of submissively, patiently waiting for his father to get off the phone.

It was an early summer evening and there was a double rainbow over the iconic dime building.
