This is the 40th st stop on the 7 train. I regularly see this stop and think nothing of it, but I thought the light was particularly beautiful that morning.

i took this during the last day of the james turrell exhibit at the guggenheim - i was trying to get just the architecture of the museum - but it was a pleasant surprise to capture a couple holding hands in stride framed in frank lloyd curves and lines - holding on to one another walking into an open future

I really love this woman's leopard print dress. I like how she is obscured by her enormous umbrella, and I like the small puddle that has formed at her feet.

After a working at a long photo shoot in NYC, when I got to the Seastreak Ferry terminal at east 35th street, the full moon was just starting to rise. I capture this image from the top deck as the ferry cruised under the Verrazano Bridge towards New Jersey.

Misfits. I took this at a NJ Goodwill store. It's across the street from a strip mall of popular retail stores. Aside from being colorful I noticed that many of the same toys were at the retail stores across the street and ended up here at the Goodwill a few months later. I love capturing all of these absurdities of daily life especially around rural suburbia. It's all out there and it's often bittersweet.

Taken in Central Park last Saturday December 14th during the storm. I love this photo as it really resonates emotionally with myself and a lot of people (friends went bananas for it on FB). It was my first time actually in that spot near the fountain and I had never seen that view before. I walked under the arches turned around and saw that. I was in the park with a more professional camera scouting for a much more involved photo shoot with a friend later in the month (I'm a hobbyist, he's a professional) but took this with my phone as it was ready in my hand. This to me it one of those captured moments that, due to those specific conditions, become rather timeless and universal. I think this is why it connects with so many people. It made the decision to go out shooting that day so rewarding. Thanks for considering!

Best,
Eric

Sugar Hill is my new favorite neighborhood. Its social vibrancy is incredible. There are a surprising amount of old defunct bars and this is a beautiful old sign I found on St Nick and 147th

I took this from my office window on Hudson. I got to watch the construction all the way through of One World Trade and now get to see the amazing sunsets reflecting off of it every evening.

This photo was taken in Beacon, NY at Dennings Point Trail along the Hudson. The bricks were interlaid with smooth stones and fallen autumn leaves at the base of a gnarly tree along the river bank and the combination created a beautiful fall palette.

I took this photo at Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, Brooklyn. I was on a bike ride, and I noticed that a perfect rainbow-ring had appeared around the sun. When I tried to photograph the ring, the sun blew out the exposure, obscuring the rainbow-ring, so I used one of the large columns topped with stone birds at Grand Army Plaza to block the sun from the shot. I liked that a man-made structure made capturing this atmospheric phenomenon possible.

I always love the visual drama of being under large bridges, this is in Riverside park under the GWB and obviously the Little Red Lighthouse. I loved the juxtaposition of the red and bridge underside and the angle of the shot. Why I took it, I love to take photos of just about everything that strikes me. Hope you like it.

I was in my favorite park in Red Hook Brooklyn in July. (not saying the name of the park. ha) There are two times during the late spring early summer months when the sun sets directly behind the Statue of Liberty. When the sky is clear the sun creates a light show behind the statue that looks more picturesque than a Hollywood set. There was a cloud just on the horizon behind the statue and it created a dramatic V in the sky. I only had my iphone with me - and wished I had brought along my "real" camera. The iphone photo came out beautifully anyway. I've taken photos of the statue for more than three years now from the same park. Every sunset is unique.

at the finish of the NYC marathon....it was oddly quiet as the runners staggered to meet their friends and family...sort of like an worn out alien invasion

I had just returned from work. I got out of my car and saw this. It felt like the end of the world. I wanted others to see what I had seen and maybe feel what I had felt.
