Inspired by vintage doodle books, our challenge gives you a fragment of a drawing to complete any way you’d like. Alison Bechdel, the noted cartoonist and winner of the MacArthur Fellowship (a.k.a. the genius grant), provided this doodle as a starting point; the rest is up to you.
UPDATE 11/22: Carolita Johnson is the winner of our challenge!

What to say...she appears to be having a conflict with the pasta! I do know the "W" tattoo stands for her new grandson, Weston.

I only used a Sharpie marker, and kept it very simple on purpose. The main focus is meant to be the message: The value of inner strength, and also the importance of not becoming preoccupied with seeking the approval of others. "Wendy" decides she doesn't need to impress, and we can assume she stops trying to please others and instead opts to tap into her own inner strength and look within for confirmation of who she is as a woman. Hear her roar!

You can't push love to where you want it will fall apart. But don't worry it will right itself if you just open your heart. As the song goes , All You NeedIs Love.

I am visiting my 93-year-old mother who has dementia and lost interest in life. This morning I had NPR playing and she was captivated by Alison Bechdel. She got out some paper and created this doodle in pencil then added acrylic paint. She calls it "Motherhood."
Thanks for getting her creative juices flowing!

The book being clutched by the girl is based on history from Kurt's home town which he will likely remember. This book tells the story of "THE BIGGEST GOVERNMENT SCANDAL EVER HIDDEN FROM THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. Love your show.
