This is my husband, Barry, insisting on driving my brand new birthday present-- a BMW 128 convertible-- WITH THE TOP DOWN at 11pm last night, Dec. 20. In a "what the hell?" spirit, we drove from the Upper WEst Side and down Broadway through Times Square, reaching it just as the theaters were letting out. Crowds of out-of-towners began to flood the sidewalks; they gawked at us just like we were just another Times Sq spectacle, cheering us and giving us the thumbs up. "Those crazy New Yorkers!" they
must've thought. But actually, we were just a married couple about to turn 60, acting like a couple of teenagers again.
