All year I wait for the camellias to bloom in my small Brooklyn garden. April ushers in three glorious weeks of flowers. In their natural state on the bush camellias are not much to look at, since their heavy heads point down at the ground. This photograph captures one Bermuda pink camellia at its best. Here the blossom stands upright in its crystal vase. And for just a few moments, the late afternoon sun illuminates every petal.
