my husband and i visited vietnam and cambodia this summer. virtually every place name had associations for us even
many years after the "American war", as they call it. this photo is in color, but early morning fog showed these limestone islands in shades of grey.
halong bay is a unesco world heritage site in the gulf of tonkin. peaceful scene, with fishing boats, leaping fish, and lots of memories.
