WNYC is a media partner for the 8th annual Afro-Punk Festival. Featuring performances by Erykah Badu, Gym Class Heroes, Janelle Monae, Das Racist, Skindred, Toro Y Moi, Reggie Watts and many more.

This year's festival will include the Nike Battle For the Streets Skate Competition, featuring some of  the nation’s top amateur skate boarders and BMX riders in a competition to be judged by top professionals in both sports,  the AFROPUNK BITES & BEATS food truck round-up of 15 of the best food trucks parked on Navy Street between Park Ave & Flushing Ave and The AFROPUNK SPIN THRIFT MARKET showcasing over 80 local artists and artisans offering fashion, crafts and art.
