Herman Goodman was a noted dermatologist and syphilologist, and a frequent speaker on WNYC.
Dr. Herman Goodman (May 5, 1894—February 9, 1971) was born and raised in New York City and obtained his degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1917. After serving in World War I, he served in several hospitals in the city and for ten years was director in charge of education and epidemiology at the Health Department, where he became supervisor of clinics in 1948. A prolific author and well-known educator, he was particularly interested in syphilis and in the study of hair.
