Janae Pierre is an award-winning journalist from New Orleans, LA. She serves as host of NYC Now, WNYC’s three-times daily news podcast. Janae is also WNYC’s fill in local host for NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered. She has filled in as guest host of WNYC’s Notes from America with Kai Wright and The Takeaway. Plus, she can be heard every now and then anchoring morning newscasts on WQXR. Janae previously worked as a general assignment reporter and host of All Things Considered at member station WBHM in Birmingham, AL. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to vinyl records and frequents dance classes in Brooklyn, including tap and Afro-Caribbean dance and movement.
