Kathleen Shimeta, mezzo-soprano, researcher and promoter of women’s music, enjoyed a career performing art songs, oratorio and opera throughout the United States. For twenty years Ms. Shimeta has devoted time performing the rich repertoire of Canadian/American composer Gena Branscombe. She recorded a CD, “Ah, Love I Shall Find Thee: Songs of Gena Branscombe,” on the Albany Records label. Kathleen co-authored and performed a one-woman show, “Life! Love! Song! A Visit with Gena Branscombe,” that showcased fifteen of Miss Branscombe’s songs with vivid first-person dialogue.
