Drummer Kendrick Scott once described himself in an interview as a “pretty boring guy…. I spend most of my time doing music-related stuff.” However, one exception to that rule is basketball, which he plays and loves to watch. But, as we found out, even conversations about basketball eventually turn to music. "It's so akin to what we're doing," he tells us, referring to his jazz quintet, Oracle. "It's like all of these guys are Lebron James. If they need to be a foundation guy, they can do that, or if they need to stay on top and finish, they can do that.
We hear a live set from the band, whose new album is called Conviction.
