Pianist Jonathan Batiste comes from a long line of New Orleans musicians, and got his start playing in his family’s band as a percussionist when he was just 8. Now, at 24, the Juilliard grad is based in New York – but his cameos on the HBO drama Treme and his upcoming tour with Crescent City native Wynton Marsalis show that he hasn’t left his New Orleans roots behind. He joins us in the studio with his band to perform live.
