Listen to new music by London-born, American bi-coastal composer Danielle Eva Schwob, who creates everything from concert works to experimental electro-rock and film scores inbetween. Listen to her work, “Out of the Tunnel,” commissioned by New Music USA and the Grammy-nominated PUBLIQuartet, a rare group flush with classical chops, improvisational skills, and rockenroll.
Also, listen to music by PRISM Quartet member Matthew Levy, together with sax player Joe Lovano from their forthcoming September release, Heritage Evolution, Vol. 2. Hear the single, “Forbidden Drive,” something of a nature study, where composed score (PRISM) and improvised parts (Lovano) both wander together along the same path in a valley/park near Wissahickon Creek. There’s also music by Danish quintet Girls In Airports collaborating with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra from their latest record, Leap.
