After Coyote Attacks, Rye Residents Warned About Playing Outdoors

A police chief in Westchester is warning residents not to let small children play outdoors after a coyote attacked a three-year-old girl yesterday while she played in her back yard.

Last Friday, two coyotes attacked a six-year-old girl in her front yard. Both girls suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Rye Police Chief William Connors says officers and wildlife experts have been authorized to shoot the coyotes on sight and to kill any that are trapped.
