New York, NY —
A man accused of shooting and killing a police officer during a Brooklyn traffic stop has been convicted of murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Dexter Bostic faces life in prison without parole when he's sentenced in February.
Prosecutors argued Bostic and two others acted as a team to shoot Officer Russel Timoshenko and now-Detective Herman Yan after they were caught with a stolen SUV and illegal weapons in July of 2007. Prosecutors argued Bostic shot and killed Timoshenko, Robert Ellis shot Yan, and Lee Woods was the driver.
A separate jury acquitted Ellis of murder and attempted-murder charges earlier this week.
Woods' jury is still deliberating.
