Paterson Takes Blame for Haiti Donation Error

Gov. Paterson is taking responsibility for thousands of donations for hurricane victims in Haiti that were never sent out. Two hundred and seventy thousand pounds of food and water were collected since September, but the donations have been held at the Bedford Armoury in Brooklyn ever since.

PATERSON: This situation has been messed up. The fault lies with me.

REPORTER: The governor's office was waiting to ship the donations until they found a partner in Haiti to distribute the food to hurricane victims. They'll work with Catholic Relief Services to ship the donations in the next few weeks. This year four hurricanes struck Haiti and left 800 people dead.
