Mayor Bloomberg held what amounted to a rally yesterday as he stood with the City Council Speaker and the president of the teachers union to demand that Albany fork over more education money. Their frustration stems from a lawsuit filed 12 years ago by a group called the Campaign for Fiscal Equity.
The state's highest court agreed that the city DOES deserve more school aid. And it was exactly a year ago today that a judge set the amount at roughly 23 billion dollars over 4 years. But Governor Pataki has appealed that order and the aid is still in limbo.
