John Cameron Mitchell, 'Ricky Powell: The Individualist', Bassist Divinity Roxx, 'Puppets of New York', Broadway COVID Update

"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" co-creators John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask released their first new song in almost two decades earlier this year, titled "Nation of One," which is included on Mitchell's latest album, New American Dream Part 2. On December 29th and 30th, Mitchell and Trask will perform together at the Town Hall, as part of their tour, Origin of Love: Songs and Stories of Hedwig. Mitchell joins to preview the Town Hall shows and talk about other projects.

"Ricky Powell: The Individualist," a new documentary about the quintessential New Yorker and street photographer Ricky Powell, is streaming now on Showtime. Director Josh Swade will be here to discuss the film and Powell's impact on pop culture.

Musician Divinity Roxx, and Beyonce's bassist from 2006 to 2011, joins us for a Listening Party for her recently released family album, Ready, Set, Go!. 

The Museum of the City of New York's exhibit, Puppets of New York, explores the diverse history of New York City’s quirkiest residents. From Punch and Judy to Oscar the Grouch; from Lamb Chop to The Lion King; from Lunar New Year to the Thanksgiving Day parade, the marionettes, shadow figures, and rod and hand puppets of New York have made appearances on our stages, studios, and streets. Curator Dr. Monxo López joins us to talk about the exhibition, alongside a surprise puppet guest!

Last week a number of Broadway performances were canceled due to COVID. New York Times theater critic Michael Paulson joins to give us an update to how theaters and theatergoers are handling the spike in positive cases in the city.
