Does Capitalism Help American Jobs, Or Ruin Them?

In this Feb. 26, 2011, file photo demonstrators rally in support of Wisconsin workers at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield, Ill.

Robert Kuttner talks about his book Can Democracy Survive Global Capitalism? In it he argues that neither immigration nor technological change is responsible for the difficulties facing today's workers. Instead, he argues, global capitalism has limited workers’ rights, liberated bankers, and allowed corporations to evade taxation.

Kuttner will be in conversation with John Cassidy on April 30 at 6 pm at The New School at Eugene Lang College's Willman Hall (65 W 11th Street).

This segment is guest hosted by Duarte Geraldino.
