An unidentified WPA children's chorus. The Federal Music Project provided music instruction for adults as well as children.

The exact date of this episode is unknown. We've filled in the date above with a placeholder. What we actually have on record is: 193u-uu-uu.

This presentation of the Works Progress Administration and the Federal Music Project features the music of a children's orchestra, ages 8 to 16. The announcer notes that the the children have never previously played a musical instrument. Taught by Vincenzo Palladino, they play the mandolin, mandola, guitar and bass.

The first composition is called Serenata by [Giugno] followed by two compositions by Mr. Palladino.

In between each composition, the announcer says a few words in support of the Works Progress Administration.

Recorded between 1935 and 1939.
