Annelise Orleck, professor of history at Dartmouth, discusses her new book "We Are All Fast-Food Workers Now": The Global Uprising Against Poverty Wages. She details how low-wage workers are rising up around the world to demand a living wage and traces how this new labor movement began and spread around the globe. She contextualizes globalization through the eyes of worker-activists: small farmers, fast-food servers, retail workers, hotel housekeepers, home-healthcare aides, airport workers and adjunct professors who are fighting for respect, safety and a living wage.
